The
Men's
3rd XI were in the 'East Midlands
Division 2' at the start of the season but after
finishing second this season they have now moved
up into 'East Midlands Division 1'. After dominating the
league for the majority of last year and after enjoying
their success they are now looking to repeat last years
performance. The
laidback approach to captaincy from Andy seems to have
worked as the team spirit within the
3rd team is at an all time high, over the previous
season this proved to create a confident and skilful
squad that looks like they are capable of challenging for the promotion
spots year after year.
New boy Ike (No
relation to Tina) took up the challenge of being the
goalkeeper, he seemed up to the challenge and as his 1st
season playing hockey progressed he showed great
potential. Bob Mainwaring, Mark Dain, Dave Hughes, Ian
Tilke, Ian Rawbon and
Martin Hall are all gracing the 3rd XI with their
presence and experience. This combination of "Old
Legends" with the the new up and coming young players seems to work
out very well. |
